Painting in Phnom Penh!
December 2010
In late November, two volunteers from Star Kampuchea worked with the girls at the Phnom Penh shelter to paint murals on the walls of the room that is to become the library.
In late November, two volunteers from Star Kampuchea worked with the girls at the Phnom Penh shelter to paint murals on the walls of the room that is to become the library.
The girls were divided into groups and given a section of the wall as their canvas. In their groups the girls discussed the theme for their painting. The ideas were drawn on paper and then sketched out on the wall. The next two days were spent painting.
The two volunteers were impressed by the girls\' initiative, interest and dedication to their work.
We are looking to complete the library project - can you help? Material donations of books (in English and Khmer), sofas/bean bags, other furniture, and mats for the library are gratefully appreciated! Please contact Mr Nget Thy, Executive Director.
