My Dream Came True as a Barber

Tola* is a survivor of labor exploitation and abuse that he faced when migrating   for work in Malaysia. He migrated because of poverty in his family. After being lured by a broker. Tola and his family decided to migrate illegally. *Survivor’s name has been changed.

Tola said, “Even get alot or little income, the job condition in Cambodia is much better than in abroad.”

Barber skill is one among many skills that make your life better in Cambodia.

After he was rescued and brought back home, Tola was supported by CCPCR to receive skill training as a barber and is now able to have a career at home [in Cambodia]. CCPCR is a partner of USAID’s Countering Trafficking-in-Person’s project implemented by Winrock International.
